The National Trust states that booking is essential for both underground tours, that new bookings are released every Thursday for the following two weeks, and that admission charges apply to members and non-members alike. Children under 1 metre in height, normally around five years old, are not permitted underground, all children must wear a hard hat and walk unaided, and stout enclosed footwear is required; the Level Tour has level access with no steps and suits some wheeled chairs and walking aids.
