GV Auctions is a federated auction layer: verified dealers and approved auction houses run their own timed catalogues, GemsVerified supplies the specialist audience, the bidder account, the bidding engine and the integrity record. The host is the seller. We never hold buyer funds, ship goods or authenticate individual stones.
How a GV Auction works
Lot Passport
Every lot carries a signed Passport: identity, weight, treatment position, origin basis and laboratory report references, frozen at the first bid and versioned before it.
The host is the seller
A verified dealer or approved auction house is the auctioneer and contracting seller. Legal identity, terms version and buyer's premium are disclosed before you register.
Server-authoritative bidding
Direct and proxy bids resolve in one locked database transaction. Two-minute soft close after any late bid; lot closes are staggered by a minute.
Payment direct to the host
Buyer funds go straight to the host's connected merchant account or by bank transfer to the host. GemsVerified charges hosts a flat catalogue fee and £4 per paid lot, and buyers no platform premium.

When does GV Auctions open?
The engine is in build and the pilot is gated on legal review and three committed pilot hosts. Early-access members hear first; no date is published until those gates are met.
Is there a buyer's premium?
GemsVerified charges buyers nothing. A host may set its own buyer's premium; it is disclosed on the room page and included in the total-cost preview beside the bid control.
Who am I buying from?
The host — a verified dealer or an approved auction house — is the auctioneer and contracting seller. Its legal identity, terms and returns policy are shown before you register to bid.
Does GemsVerified authenticate the lots?
No. Each Lot Passport records the host's declarations and any laboratory report references. Independent laboratories certify stones; the host is responsible for the accuracy of its Passport.
